Chuckles for charity

On Thursday 23rd May, My University Hospitals Sussex welcomed top-tier comedians to the stage at The Charmandean in Worthing.

As always, the line-up remained top-secret until the night. Robert White was the first reveal; the Britain’s Got Talent runner-up had the audience in stitches with his unique musical stylings and cheeky whips. Robert was followed by Komedia’s 2024 New Comedy Award winner, Andrew Fox, with the comedian joking about his upbringing and height. Rounding off the show was stand-up Aaron Simmonds, fresh off his appearance on BBC One’s QI and raring to go. The evening was expertly compered by the hilarious Windsor.

Aaron Simmonds was delighted to be supporting the charity through comedy. He said:

The show was a hit with audience members as well. Audience member Simon Rawlings shared: “It’s been brilliant – I did get the mickey taken out of me though! I’ll definitely come again. And My University Hospitals Sussex is such a worthy charity to support.”

We’re incredibly grateful to all our wonderful acts and audience for coming together for a great night of laughter and supporting our work. The event raised an amazing £1,720.55 to help improve the lives of our patients and staff.
