My University Hospitals Sussex is delighted to announce the arrival of Alastair Irons as its new Head of Fundraising and Communications from 1st August.

A multi-award-winning fundraising and marcomms expert with a wealth of strategic experience from across the charity sector, Alastair’s commercial agency background, combined with 10 years’ governance experience as a charity trustee, brings a wholly new perspective to our fundraising programme.

As a creative leader and innovator Alastair arrives at a crucial time for My UHSussex, as Director, Steve Crump explains,

“We’re already three months into our two-year strategic plan, with huge ambitions to implement and further develop the My UHSx charity brand, introducing a multi-disciplinary fundraising programme that broadens the charity fundraising mix while achieving year-on-year growth throughout its course. ”

“Alastair joining the My University Hospitals Sussex team means more events like this week’s support for Brighton & Hove Pride, more opportunities for local people to get involved, and hopefully lots more fun. As a consequence we’ll also be growing our grant-making programme, putting the patient first in delivering patient and staff benefits. It’s about improving local people’s lives. That’s the plan.”
