Highlights
£4,667,000 of charitable funding was distributed across the Trust. This included:
£41,652 to fund the room refurbishment and installation of a new birthing pool in the Royal Sussex County Hospital. In partnership with the Dervia Foundation, My Charity was able to improve patient pathways by providing water births as a choice for birthing plans.
£147,000 spent on seven Savi Scout consoles across the Trust. The new equipment makes local excisions for early-stage breast cancer easier by pinpointing tumours for more precise removal and more successful outcomes.
£255,424 funding transnasal endoscopes for the gastroenterology service at Princess Royal Hospital, enabling a newer method of endoscopy through the nose. Accuracy has been proven the same as the conventional method through the mouth, but with numerous benefits.
A look to the future shares the plan for our exciting events programme, including the launch of NHS My Music, and the charity’s £7.75m appeal towards the new Sussex Cancer Centre in Brighton.
