Proud to be supporting the British Transplant Games 2026

Sheffield, 6-9 August

The British Transplant Games is a celebration of life, and here at My Charity, we are incredibly proud to support the Games by funding a team to take part.

The event is designed to encourage transplant recipients to get involved in sports and be active, providing a welcoming space where participants can connect, support one another and celebrate what’s possible after transplantation.

A coming together of people who don’t necessarily know each other but have an incredible, invisible bond.  The games are about hope, friendship and life.

Hospitals from across the country submit their own team of transplant recipients and donors. They then travel to the British Transplant Games to take part in friendly competition, competing against other hospital teams in a range of sporting events.

Participants can choose from a wide range of activities, including swimming, athletics, running, table tennis, snooker and golf, to a name few. The long list of options ensures the Games are suitable for all ages and abilities.

At the end of the Games, teams and individuals are awarded with medals and there is often a well-known face to present the accolades, last year it was TV personality and scholar Susie Dent.

” The Games celebrate the extraordinary, life-changing impact of organ donation and the incredible transformations it makes possible. Having witnessed kidney disease both personally and professionally, I have seen the challenges of waiting for a transplant and the remarkable difference a donation can make. Meeting recipients and hearing their stories first hand is a powerful reminder of how one generous act can completely change a life. It’s thanks to our incredible supporters that we can submit a team to the Games for the fifth year in a row. It means so much to those that have experienced the life-changing effects of an organ transplant.
